1. Disassembly and inspection
After removing the wheel, check whether the gasket surface is deformed, cracked or rusted, and clean the dust and oil on the contact surface (brake cleaner is recommended). If the gasket is deformed or the bolt hole is severely worn, a new gasket needs to be replaced; minor rust can be polished with sandpaper and then applied with rust inhibitor.
2. Installation and fixation
During installation, ensure that the gasket is completely in contact with the wheel hub and bearing to avoid deviation.
Apply screw glue to the end of the bolt thread, and tighten the nut step by step in diagonal order. The final torque must reach 95 foot-pounds (about 129 Newton meters).
3. Special precautions
When installing the front wheel, someone needs to assist in stepping on the brake pedal to fix the wheel hub.
If the tire is worn out due to gasket problems (such as rear axle tire eating), the four-wheel alignment parameters (such as toe value) need to be adjusted simultaneously.
1. Regular inspection
After installation, the bolt torque needs to be checked after driving about 150 kilometers, and then every 3,000 kilometers to prevent loosening.
Observe whether there are oil stains or abnormal wear marks around the gasket, which may indicate bearing oil leakage or installation offset.
2. Cleaning and maintenance
Rinse the gasket and the mud and sand inside the wheel hub with clean water during each maintenance to avoid long-term accumulation of dirt and accelerated corrosion.
Check whether the contact surface between the tire and the gasket is flat, and clean the embedded gravel or metal chips in time.
3. Tool and material recommendations
Tools: torque wrench (to ensure precise tightening), jack, special disassembly tool (avoid hitting the wheel hub).
Consumables: high viscosity screw glue, brake cleaner, anti-rust lubricant.
4. Risk warning
Non-professional maintenance may cause the wheel hub to break or fall off during driving. It is recommended that complex operations be completed by professional technicians.
Widening the gasket may affect the suspension geometry and bearing life. It is necessary to select the appropriate specifications in combination with the requirements of the vehicle manual.
Through standardized operation and regular maintenance, the service life of the wheel spacer adapter can be effectively extended and driving safety can be guaranteed.
